About the last edition
BBQ Rooftop, Looking South from Russian Hill
South from Jackson, between Leavenworth and Jones. Stacked housing, high-rises behind it, night clouds. A grill in the bottom left corner.
Made with colored paper, cut and layered, with paint.
I moved to the north side of the city in 2023 and haven't stopped looking at these layers. Apartments on houses, high-rises behind them, everything stacked. I'd been looking at this particular view from a neighbor's place for years before I made anything of it.
This artwork became September's mail. The club gives me a routine and an outlet for my practice without the pressures of constantly needing to sell work.

EDITION 08 · AUGUST 2026 · RUSSIAN HILL
MAILED SEPTEMBER

An ongoing survey of San Francisco.
Most of what I make is large. A painting takes weeks, so it's priced accordingly. Most people buy one and then do not buy another for years, if ever.
In this economy, I made peace with that part. What got to me was standing at a show while someone told me which corner the painting is, what used to be in that storefront, how they walked past it every day for six years, and then watching them go home without it. They wanted it. The price was in the way. That bugged me about as much as it bugged them.
Craft fairs are where this changed for me. I could put postcards and note cards on the table next to the paintings, and people bought them fast. They went digging for their block, their bus line, the apartment they lived in ten years ago. People want art in their house and want to back the artist making it. Price was the only thing stopping them. The postcard solved that, and the Club made it easier still. It comes to their mailbox every month, and over a year it adds up to a collection of San Francisco.

Good things to know when joining the club
Which edition will I receive first?
Join by the final day of the month to receive the following month’s edition.
Eg: Join by September 30 for the October mailing.
Do I get to pick the painting?
No. Each month is whatever I painted that month, and members see it before it goes anywhere else. If there is a specific piece you already want, it is probably in the shop or in past editions.
When does the mail leave the studio?
Each edition mails during the first week of the month. U.S. mail can take up to 10 business days. International delivery typically takes two to four weeks.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Monthly memberships can be canceled before the next renewal from your account. Annual memberships do not renew and are active for the entire year.
Is the envelope tracked?
No. The club travels as standard letter mail, so tracking is not available. If an edition does not arrive after the delivery window, get in touch.
Can I send the club as a gift?
Yes. Choose twelve month gift, then enter the recipient’s mailing details at checkout. I'll include a note that it was sent by you. Gift memberships end automatically.
